Club
Many fine mansions have graced the present
site of Brookmans Park Golf Club since the early 1600s. The
present clubhouse, which is of Tudor origin, was formerly
the stables of a house destroyed by fire in 1891. Naturally
many changes have taken place since then and today members
and visitors alike enjoy first class facilities and are assured
a warm and friendly welcome.
A special claim to fame is that Sir Thomas
Moore is believed to have written his ‘Utopia’
here. In fact there is something distinctly utopian about
the whole setting with many fine, mature trees around the
club house – two of the best examples are the great
cedars behind the 18th green which are reputed to be over
250 years old and are depicted on the club logo.
